90 hz refresh rate, 2,400 by 1,080 resolution, and full room motion tracking.

This thing is legit.

The next level of VR (TM)

Also, RIP Oculus lol. At least Sony still has a chance to dominate the console market with PM

I'm not so sure.  OR is almost certainly going to be comparable, and has more exposure.

RIP DK2, sure.

But who knows what specs the final one has.

Bwahahahahaha, in stores this holiday season? And devs only get it in spring? With these devs on board?

I think Valve has finally let their success go to their heads, this just screams failure.

Men, VR is already in dev hands, won't take that long to add support for another headset.

Yeah it might be in devs hands, but what are big devs actually doing with it? It's way too insignificant at the moment to put some serious dev resources behind it as a third party.

If this releases with only support for some indie games and old Valve games (as I highly doubt they're still making new AAA games) this will be nothing but a niche product.

But I don't believe this'll come in 2015 anyway, I mean what's with their Steam Machines, weren't they supposed to be already out as well? Those were delayed too.

Looks good, if this does come out this year and supports project cars, or any sort of flight sim I'll buy if it's not a grand

I'm talking about OR, its already in dev's hands.  Valve is making it their goal for support for many VR headsets.  This won't fail because of lack of support.  I suspect it will fail because OR is already ahead of the game.

Yes I know you were talking about OR, but OR support for actually significant games is pretty dang small as well (though OR has Facebook behind it, so that can help with that), the reality of the matter is just that the large majority of the industry is not ready to make a serious commitment to VR in 2015.

I think the next few months will change your opinion.

Devs have had the tech for a while and about know will be when bigger projects, if they exist, could be announced.

Hold your horses. Portal 3 or HL3 with this would be huge

That means 2017's holiday season.

Like I said, I highly doubt that Valve is still making AAA games themselves.

Possibly, I personally don't have a huge interest in VR at the moment anyway, I kinda do see it as the future of gaming, but I have a hard time seeing it as a huge player until a couple years from now. I just don't see all that many people wanting to buy another $300+ (just a guess) accessory for gaming at the moment and I don't see many companies being willing to really invest into it for now.

But the moment we'll be able to send all 5 senses into VR I'll be there day 1, though that in a sense might lead to a ton of ethical problems on top of the technical ones so I'm not sure we'll have this all too soon. :D
