One of the most lukewarm takes in gaming is that the story of Kingdom Hearts is impossible to follow. Spread across 12 unique titles thus far -- Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the 13th entry -- the timeline is notoriously complex, sure. But Square Enix is doing its best to help out anyone who's fallen off the Kingdom Hearts train since the first game launched in 2002, releasing the most complete compilation yet for the series this fall.

Out Oct. 30, Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far for PlayStation 4 will include every relevant piece of story content in a single set. The package collects both Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, so that fans will no longer need to make two separate purchases to get the entire series under one roof.

That seems to be the biggest selling point of the $39.99 compilation.

How many times did they re-release this?
Depends on what you mean by "this".

This is the first compilation with everything.
This is like the second compilation that has 1+2 remix.
This is at least the fourth time for releasing the games themselves.
