Everything here: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2014/140730e.pdf

- Mario Kart 8 sold 2.82 million in its first month on sale.
- Bloomberg:"What's important for Nintendo in the near future is how they promote their new figurine business," Yusuke Tsunoda, an analyst at Tokai Tokyo Securities Co., said before the earnings announcement. "It's difficult for Nintendo to grow without as many new titles as they announced last year."
- Digital sales down from ¥5.7 billion a year ago to ¥5.0 billion in the last quarter, a decline of 12%. Not the right direction compared to just about every other major company with a digital segment.

With Wii U at 0.51m and Xbox One at < 0.7m... there is a small chance Wii shipped more than Xbox One.

Terrible results. 2.8m first party game sales(for one title) with 510k hardware sales. Nintendo is still losing with the Wii U. Lol at the people who tried saying the Wii U was now profitable.

Also, 510k really isn't that significant. I don't think they will have as good results in quarter 2 and 4 for shipments. Means they have to have a pretty significant holiday to get their projections

Dr. Pezus

Are you kidding with the 3DS shipments?! That's like 270k per month.

Mario Kart 8 represents 64% of WiiU software sold this quarter. Uhm...

No kidding :D

Last quarter was slow and some retails works with previous shipments.

BTW - Vgc has 1xxk Wii U's on shelves. Lol, yeah right. They had more for ps4 while it was severly supply constrained. There is a min amount each store would need to have on hand (wii u comes 3 in a box for each sku) to have enough stock. Maybe 1xxk for Us only. Oh, also from China to destination is instantaneous too apparently.

I do think VGC will adjust their data... 1 million on shelves for Wii U seems a bit high.

Xevross

Shipped more than MS but still bad. Sony to outship them both combined!

Ohhhhhhh... just change high for low :D

100k seems too low.

Yes...with VGC showing that it sells 50-60k per week. I think it's WAY overtracked in Europe. Japan obviously spot on and US quite close at least.

Dr. Pezus

They actually made less revenue compared to last year despite WiiU sales being massively up (in %) and MK8 selling a lot.

It's got to be OT in Europe/others. If ps3's normal shipped vs sold was close to 1.5m usually I see no reason why Wii U's wouldn't at least be 500k or so.

Well yeah, the fundamental difference between WiiU and PS3 though is that retailers want to stock a lot of PS3s because people buy it. With WiiU there is no guarantee

With it selling  ~50k/week I'd say 500k on shelves does sound about right
