What do you want/expect in the next home consoles?

Nintendo expect:

Wii U still has years left but it seems like a fine time to talk about Nintendo's next home system.

I think it'll be a craddle for their next handheld. The 3DS 2 or whatever is the brains, while the craddle just powers it and ads hdmi+ethernet+usb. Bluetooth controllers will connect to the 3DS 2 to allow input while in the craddle.

Spec wise it'd be on par with xbox one, but while in mobile mode it runs at a lower clock to preserve battery power and heat.

BasilZero

-B/C with the previous system
-Better Digital Distribution and B/C with DD
-Account System/Better Online Infrastructure (for Nintendo mainly because they suck balls in it)
-Better recording features / longer length in sharing features (share button for an example)
-Bigger Storage space

Legend

Nintendo desire:

Core focused with full vr support. 8 times stronger than PS4. Full trophy and sharing options. Can play all 3DS 2 games.

Legend

Microsoft expect:

Nothing :(

Microsoft want:

Full streaming enviroment like playstation now. Hardware is free with a gold subscription. Controllers have all the DS4 jazz, and then force feedback thumbsticks as well. Kinect 3.0 is an included yet optional wireless bar that's set under the tv. It can finally track bodies with good enough quality.

Legend

Sony bonus idea:

Full focus on PlayStation Now, but the system itself will still be a very good upgrade from PS4. When the internet connection is good enough the game is streamed, and when it is bad the game is played locally at lower settings. This happens dynamically while playing, similar to Netflix switching resolutions. Or like switching between old and new in Halo HD.

Legend

Sony expect:

Power beast at a $400 launch price. PlayStation Now allows PS5 games to be streamed to other devices, so PS5 is for the core and people without great internet. PS5 also does VR, and that is not streamed through now.

The VR headset comes in two flavors, regular and elite. Regular is 4K 60fps while elite is 8K 120fps. In both cases the gameis rendered by the PS4 at the same resolution, but with the elite it produces a much cleaner image.

Gameplay recording is back and at full quality. The cool new thing is that viewers can at any time press a button to convert the stream to a local instance of the game. So it's as if the streamer just handed you his controller. Leaderboards are of course disabled when this happens.

I want/expect much shorter loadtimes ... waiting 1 or 2 minutes for each level to load like with Destiny is a fudging shame!

Great point. Destiny gets painful sometimes
