I'm updating my Unity download.It's $100,000 on the previous year. So if you make a game and it's super successful the stupid monthly fees only apply to the next game or updates.
It's been a while. I didn't remember that while Unity doesn't have royalties, if you're making more than $X, you have to pay monthly fees. Which at that point, is easily affordable. But I still like that Lumberyard is completely free.
(I don't like monthly fees either. Would much rather just buy a pro license for $1,000 and be done with it)
